Anything a apple can do . . .

I know we are in strawberry mode right now, but after finding some nice soft Bartlett and Bosc pears at the store (a rare find!), I couldn't resist throwing a salted caramel pear pie into the oven. Listen folks, a pear can do anything an apple can do, and maybe do it even better!

The spice combination of ginger and cinnamon (and lemon juice) doesn’t exactly sound like summer pie (Ok, maybe the lemon juice does), but with taste this good, I know it will go in any season. The word “silky” comes to mind. Nobody ever said that about apple pie.

Serve it warm with a little homemade caramel sauce (and a cup of coffee, of course).
